- 2¼ c. flour
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ½ c. shortening
- 1 c sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 T. cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla or 1 T. orange juice
Cream the shortening and sugar; add eggs, cream, and vanilla.
Gradually add the flour, mixing well.
Chill the dough before baking.
Place on lightly greased pan and sprinkle with sugar before baking at 400° F. for 10-12 minutes.
(Makes 3 dozen crisp cookies)
